VIRU PILSNER

A. Le Coq Brewery  Tartu, Estonia

  • 5%ABV
  • Very light colour, bright yellow, with a full frothy head.
  • Very skunky aroma bordering on the awful.  Similar to industrial solvents and cleaners with a hint of apple juice.
  • The taste is awful, reminiscent of “heroin beer” served at sporting events.  Metallic canned taste with rotten cabbage.

    Heroin beer?!

    • Heroin beer is a term coined by regular hockey and CFL patrons concerning the beer served at various sporting stadiums. Legend has it the miles of tap lines are very irregularly cleaned which creates a very off-putting, borderline awful beer that is sold for very high prices at sporting events. I don’t know if this is just a calgary thing though.
